The school follows the Australian curriculum framework, supplemented by the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. For younger students in the Early Years (ages 2-6), the inquiry-based Reggio Emilia-inspired approach is utilised. The Primary School (Prep -5) follows the IB PYP, and the Middle School (Years 6-8) follow the Australian Curriculum. From Years 9-10, students engage in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), and in Years 11-12, they can choose between the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the IB Diploma Programme or flexible IB Courses and the AIS diploma accredited by WASC.
The Australian International School (AIS) in Singapore caters for students from infant care, preschool through to Year 12. The school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and the Australian Curriculum, complemented by the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Year 10 and three senior pathways for Years 11 and 12: the IB Diploma Programme, the HSC, or IB Courses+, offering over 55 subject options as you would expect from a an established school in Singapore. One of AIS’s notable features is its unique emphasis on vocational education and training (VET), providing students with opportunities to gain real-world skills and qualifications. The school also hosts annual cultural and arts productions, promotes environmental initiatives and offers opportunities for exchange programs. Students rate the career counselling program highly, as they also supported applications for scholarships and overseas university course credits before graduation, in addition to guidance in acceptance to universities of choice in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
