The campuses offer sports facilities including basketball, volleyball, bouldering, five-a-side football, and cross-country races. Outdoor activities are available as part of campus life, and the environment features a Bio Pond. External athletic facilities such as Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center are used for larger events.
The school delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The IB PYP is offered for 3–12 year olds, the MYP for 11–16 year olds, and the DP for 16–19 year olds. The school emphasizes bilingual learning in English and Mandarin. The student–teacher ratio is 15:1. The Marina City Campus and NTU@One North Campus are the two HWA locations in Singapore. English Language Support (ELS) and Chinese Language Support (CLS) are available to assist students who need language help.
HWA offers a wide range of extracurricular activities (CCAs), including sports, music, and arts, as well as various clubs. Chinese culture CCAs include Guzheng, Tea Ceremony, and Calligraphy. CCAs provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.
