Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

The school delivers a continuum of IB and Cambridge programmes. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered in the Primary, followed by the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Years 7–9, Cambridge IGCSE in Years 10–11, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12–13. The IGCSE is offered through Cambridge International Education (CIE) and Edexcel. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based learning and university preparation.

Arts and Creative

The Arts are integrated into Nexus learning, encompassing drama, fine arts, and music. From Nursery through Year 9, art is taught as part of the core curriculum, with opportunities to specialise in IGCSE and IBDP from Year 10 onward. The school provides dedicated facilities and an Instrumental Programme offering individual or small-group lessons, plus year-round performance opportunities such as Nexus Beats and school productions.

Cultural and Language

The Nexus community is highly international, with over 60 nationalities represented. Language instruction includes Chinese (Mandarin), French, and Spanish taught by specialist teachers. In the IB Diploma Programme, English and Chinese are available as language options, with English listed among the languages of instruction.

Social and Hobbies

There are extensive cocurricular offerings, with more than 115 cocurricular activities available. Drama and music are prominent, with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) programme available for younger learners and other performing arts opportunities throughout the year. Students participate in school productions and performances, including large-scale performances and concerts.

Community and Service

Nexus runs community service opportunities, including Care for Others Week and the Nexus International Fair. The school supports a broad range of service activities, with many opportunities for student involvement.

Leadership and Professional

The IB Diploma Programme includes a comprehensive university and career programme to support learners' post-secondary plans. Small tutor groups, wide subject choices, and learner agency foster leadership, collaboration, and independence. Learners also gain entrepreneurial and leadership experience through events such as participation in Junior Achievement Singapore Company of the Year.
We also run an active Learner Council in Primary and Secondary school where learners have an important voice in their own educational experience.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Non-examined lessons in IGCSE years nurture physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. The school provides English as an Additional Language support and counselling as part of inclusive support to ensure wellbeing and inclusion. The overall approach emphasizes holistic wellbeing alongside academic achievement.
