Odyssey Loyang is the third Odyssey campus in Singapore; it officially opened in May 2014. The Loyang campus is part of the Odyssey group, which is owned by Busy Bees Asia, and uses the Reggio Emilia-inspired model like its sister campuses. The site is about 36,000 square feet and is designed with facilities like Music Garden, Little Chef Lab, spacious classrooms, and outdoor learning areas.
Parents at Odyssey Loyang are regularly invited to participate in campus events, workshops, and seminars as part of the parent involvement philosophy. One cultural event is the “Children’s Day pARTy” which the Loyang campus hosted in September 2023, bringing families together for community celebration. The school places importance on home-school collaboration, allowing parents to engage in classroom activities like storytelling, cooking, show-and-tells or assisting in projects.
Odyssey Loyang participates in the PSG@Odyssey (Parent Support Group), which is made up of parent volunteers, a PSG Teacher Coordinator, and the Centre Director. The group meets bi-monthly to coordinate events, projects, workshops, and seminars for each campus, including Loyang. Parents are invited into the classroom to support learning via storytelling, puppetry sessions, cooking demonstrations, show-and-tells, or helping with hands-on projects. For example, Loyang ran a Children’s Day “pARTy” event in September 2023, showing how PSG helps organize community celebrations.
Odyssey, The Global Preschool at Loyang provides early childhood education for children aged 18 months to 6 years. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) with a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. The 36,000-square-foot Reggio Emilia-inspired campus offers spacious classrooms, a Little Chef Lab, and a Music Garden. A distinctive feature is the full Chinese language immersion program, with dedicated Chinese language teachers in every class, promoting bilingual proficiency from an early age.
