Facilities Overview

Danila Kumar International School is located on a single site in the Bežigrad district of Ljubljana, at Gogalova ulica 15, 1000 Ljubljana. It serves pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and middle school ages within the International Baccalaureate framework (PYP and MYP). It is about ten minutes north of central Ljubljana and close to the ring road. It is easily accessible by road and public transport, with Ljubljana City Bus routes 8, 11, 6 and 14 stopping near the school and Ljubljana-Ježica railway nearby.

Sports Facilities

Sports Academy is intended for students from 1st to 5th grade of the International and national departments. It is not professional training but age-appropriate activities. Four introductory sports are offered: mini volleyball, mini basketball, mini handball and football. Coaches include Denis Divjak (Grade 1), Jasna Lavrenčič (Grade 2) and Mitja Uršič (Grades 3/4/5). There can be a maximum of 15 students in each group. The Sports Academy uses the Dome and Gym as venues.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Extracurricular Activities/Co-Curricular Activities include an Afternoon Programme with a structured timetable for PYP students and Co-Curricular Activities for AP Students. Transdisciplinary in-class and excursion-based science, cultural and sport activities are part of the PYP programme. The school participated in Erasmus+ KA2 projects, such as Connected with the Environment, collaborating with partner schools in Europe. The school calendar includes ongoing events and activities throughout the year.
