Danila Kumar International School is located in the Bežigrad district of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was founded to facilitate the lives of foreign families in Slovenia by offering two International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The school is an International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) World School, operating within the IB framework that emphasizes inquiry‑based, student‑centred learning and rigorous assessment. It focuses on the holistic growth of the developing child—intellectual, physical, emotional and social—and on intercultural understanding, respect, responsible communication and citizenship, while fostering cooperation with schools and institutions in Slovenia and abroad to contribute to a more peaceful world.
The school maintains an active community life through its School Life section and an ongoing activity calendar for students and parents. The calendar is organized into categories such as LATEST, MEETINGS, COMPETITIONS and HOLIDAYS and includes events such as visits by authors, cultural days and international exchanges. The culture of the school is reinforced by cultural days, theatre and visiting author programs, and programmes that connect the international school community. The PTA complements school activities by providing a channel for parent involvement and communication within the community.
The Danila Kumar International School PTA is an association of parents and teachers who work together for the well‑being of children and the school. It provides an important communication link between parents and the school and supports the school's activities. The PTA aims to promote the welfare of children and the community, provide orientation, education and other services to parents, and foster friendly relationships and communication between staff and parents to support students' education. It also assists with special projects and activities and provides funding for activities not normally covered by the school budget. Any parent or guardian with a child at the school can become an active member of the PTA. The calendar of PTA events includes items such as Joint Grade Meetings for Parents and other scheduled activities.
