Redhill School

Redhill School is a secular, co-educational international day school on the Redhill campus in Morningside, Sandton, Johannesburg. The school is organised into an Early Learning Centre (KG1–Grade 1), Junior School (Grades 2–5), Middle School (Grades 6–9) and Senior School (Grades 10–12). Redhill teaches the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in Middle School and the IB Diploma Programme in Senior School while also offering the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum in the Senior School, giving students the option of graduating with either an IEB National Senior Certificate or the IB Diploma. English is the primary language used in teaching; the school runs a bilingual initiative that introduces isiZulu from the ELC and an opt-in Grade 2–3 bilingual class, offers Afrikaans or isiZulu as a first additional language in the IEB stream, and provides French in its IB programme. Notable facilities published by the school include a Reggio Emilia–inspired ELC building, a Redhill School of Music and recording studio, a film studio and student radio, a hockey astro and a High Performance Aquatic Centre (25m, multi‑lane, floodlit), plus an Innovation Hub and other recent campus developments. The school also publishes policies such as “no formal homework or standardised testing before Grade 7.”
