Facilities Overview

The St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju campus offers a multi-faceted set of facilities to support academics, arts and athletics. The Field House features a 25-meter swimming pool, separate showers and lockers, a well-equipped fitness room, and two dance studios, along with a large gymnasium suitable for basketball, volleyball and badminton. The campus also houses a 650-seat Performing Arts Center, complemented by a Mini-PAC and a Black-box theater for assemblies and performances. The Elementary and Secondary Libraries provide rich learning spaces, with the Elementary Library offering two teaching areas with interactive projectors and SMART televisions and Apple desktops, while the Secondary Library includes six meeting rooms and various study spaces with English and Korean academic support. A Shinsegae Food cafeteria operates on campus with a nutritionist and chef and a globally informed menu, under a hygiene-focused operation. Outdoors, an elementary playground opened in 2019 featuring a gazebo, grass area, a bouldering wall, chalkboard walls, sandbox spaces and an outdoor kitchen.

Sports Facilities

The on-site Field House includes a 25-meter pool, separate boys' and girls' showers and lockers, a fully equipped fitness room, two dance studios and a large gymnasium suitable for tournaments in basketball, volleyball and badminton. These facilities are designed to support daily physical activity, team practices and inter-school competitions.

Academic Facilities

Academic facilities include Elementary and Secondary Libraries with dedicated spaces for collaboration and study. The Elementary Library provides teaching spaces with interactive technology and Apple desktops, while the Secondary Library offers six meeting rooms and a variety of study areas, plus English and Korean academic support. The curriculum also references a dedicated Makerspace and Robotics program, indicating hands-on spaces for creation and experimentation.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Extracurricular facilities support a robust arts program, including a 650-seat Performing Arts Center with a Mini-PAC and Black-box for performances, and an Art Gallery for exhibitions across paintings, photography, 3D arts and films. Music and drama programs are active, with opportunities for performances and participation in local events. Weekend activities are offered through Residential Life, including off-campus trips and on-campus events. An outdoor playground opened in 2019 provides additional outdoor space for recreation and imagination.

St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju (SJA Jeju) is a NEASC-accredited PreK–12 day and boarding school on Jeju Island, South Korea. Students learn through inquiry and project-based learning, including the school’s Capstone Intensive Learning Model in Grades 5, 8 and 12. In the early grades, the program includes specialist classes such as Robotics and the Elementary program includes an Outdoor and Experiential Education sequence that culminates in overnight camping for Grades 3–5. For students planning university pathways, the school offers a broad Advanced Placement (AP) program, with 30 AP course offerings listed by department. Boarding is available for Grades 6–12.
