St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju opened on Jeju Island, South Korea, in 2017 as part of a Global Education City of companion boarding schools from the United States, Britain, and Canada. It was conceived on the model of St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, with the same mission, the Three Promises, and the Hilltopper identity. The Jeju campus serves students from kindergarten through grade 12 and operates independently, while maintaining ties to its Vermont counterpart. The sister-school relationship with St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont includes collaboration to expand exchange programs.
St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju operates within Jeju's Global Education City and supports a residential life program with seven-day-a-week boarding. Weekend activities and proctor-led programs offer a mix of outdoor excursions, cultural activities, and on-campus experiences. A monthly newsletter keeps families informed about campus life, and SJA Jeju hosted the Jeju World University Fair in September 2024. The campus maintains ongoing collaboration with St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, including student exchanges.
The SJA Jeju Parents' Association (PA) is comprised of elected officers and school coordinators. It meets once a month to discuss issues relevant to school support. The PA's purposes include supporting student enrichment outside the classroom. The PA's purposes include promoting community service. St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju (SJA Jeju) is a NEASC-accredited PreK–12 day and boarding school on Jeju Island, South Korea. Students learn through inquiry and project-based learning, including the school’s Capstone Intensive Learning Model in Grades 5, 8 and 12. In the early grades, the program includes specialist classes such as Robotics and the Elementary program includes an Outdoor and Experiential Education sequence that culminates in overnight camping for Grades 3–5. For students planning university pathways, the school offers a broad Advanced Placement (AP) program, with 30 AP course offerings listed by department. Boarding is available for Grades 6–12.
