Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Arts and Creative

Music and Drama are central to the Arts program. All students participate in music and drama to develop artistic abilities and contribute to school concerts and plays. Music is a regular and enjoyable part of school life, with children performing in school productions to build confidence and communication. Drama develops performance skills, collaboration and teamwork, and culminates in the annual Christmas Performance and Summer Concert performed for parents.

Cultural and Language

Spanish is taught as the Spanish curriculum (Educación Primaria) and as a Second Language. Lessons are 45 minutes to 1 hour, across 3–5 periods per week, helping pupils develop confidence and communicate in Spanish. The program enables pupils to learn the language and provides the option to continue their education within the Spanish system if required.

Social and Hobbies

After-school clubs include Football, Basketball, Cross Country, Ballet, Spanish and Art, plus a Friday Homework Club. Qualified instructors teach all activities, and clubs run from 4:15pm to 5:00pm. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Calpe School values high-quality Physical Education and follows the British National Curriculum for Physical Education. Every child from Pre-Nursery to Year Six participates in a wide range of sporting experiences taught by PE specialists. The program fosters physical awareness, mental well-being, respect, sportsmanship and fair play, and teaches students to win and lose with grace. Primary students experience Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cross-Country, Dance, Football, Floor Hockey, Handball, Gymnastics, Jump Rope, Rounders and Mini-Tennis, with team training sessions available to all students from Year Three to Six during lunchtimes and after school.
