Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

Casa del Mar Montessori Marbella offers four Montessori environments: Nido, Infant Community, Children's House, and Elementary Program. The Nido space is a peaceful, calm environment designed for babies from 6 months to about 15 months, with materials placed within easy reach on the floor. The environment is guided by simplicity, order, and harmony, with neutral colors and warm lighting to create a home-like atmosphere. In Nido, the eating area uses wooden cube chairs to support independent seating, and the rest area is at floor level to promote rest and autonomy. The Elementary Environment follows the Great Lessons and provides a broad, self-directed curriculum across cosmology, geography, science, language, math, music, and art. The Montessori curriculum adheres to AMI standards.

Academic Facilities

Academic spaces follow Montessori principles and AMI standards. The Elementary Program uses the Great Lessons as the starting point for study, introducing cosmology, astronomy, earth science, geography, chemistry, physics, biology, history, anthropology, cultural and social studies, language, math, music, and art. Lessons are designed so children explore topics in depth driven by their own interests, often working in pairs or groups. The teacher models constructive problem solving and guides planning, collaboration, and assessment. In the Nido environment, materials sit on the floor and on low shelves to encourage independent movement and hands-on learning. The eating area uses wooden cube chairs to support independent seating, and the rest area is at floor level to promote autonomy.
