Opened in September 2015 as the first British school in A Coruña. It is a sister school of O Castro British International School in Vigo and part of Globeducate British International Schools. As part of Globeducate, the Senior Leadership Team supports every member of staff to achieve their goals, with Globeducate's Directorate of Education working to ensure high standards in teaching and learning. The school publishes its academic results every year, along with graduate statistics and the universities that accepted its students. Globeducate uses the Platinum Standard for continuous improvement across its schools.
Coruña British International School maintains an active community with events published in News & Events, including Open Day schedules and literacy-focused events such as the Globeducate British International Schools Literacy Meet. Pastoral care supports wellbeing and safeguarding, and staff undertake safeguarding training. Outdoor Learning at Coruña British International School provides students with a programme from age three, including The Journey from Year 2 to Year 8 and the Duke of Edinburgh International Award from Year 9, developing independence, creativity, teamwork and resilience. Partnerships with WWF, Eco Schools, and the UN Sustainable Goals frame the school's environmental and global citizenship work.
Coruña British International School offers a British international education for ages 3–18. It follows the English National Curriculum across Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form (A-Levels). The school provides English immersion alongside a multilingual approach to support international and local families. The campus spans more than 3,200 m2, with facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, playing fields, a dance/drama studio, a workshop, a greenhouse and a Learning Hub (library, learning support and technology space). Early Years have dedicated outdoor space; Primary classrooms open to shared areas; Secondary and Baccalaureate rooms cluster around a STEAM zone with laboratories, workshops and music/art facilities. A Culleredo campus opens in 2026 on a 38,698 m2 plot, featuring a gymnasium, indoor sports pavilion, an auditorium, outdoor sports area and arts/STEAM classrooms. The school offers extensive extracurriculars—robotics, debate and language programmes—and is a sister school to O Castro in Vigo and part of Globeducate.
