Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

The school is an officially approved Norwegian school in Spain for grades 1 through 13. It is located at Avda. de Castilla 38b, Ciudad Quesada 03170 Rojales (Alicante), Spain. DNSR describes itself as a modern school under the sun and blends study with movement and community. Each school day starts in base groups with a base teacher, focusing on academic and social development with student participation and individualized support. The school offers education from first grade through the third year of upper secondary (VG3). A new outdoor classroom space is being prepared, including a recently installed outdoor table.

Academic Facilities

The school loans learning resources at the start of the school year. Students in VG1 and VG2 have access to an iPad, and VG3 uses a Mac for work during lessons; private devices can be used by arrangement. The school provides a Norwegian upper secondary program with studies in languages, social studies and economics. Students choose two program subjects from their program area over two years, plus a third program subject; some subjects can be taken as private candidates if needed. VG2 offers Reiseliv og språk 1, Media og informasjonskunnskap 1, and Entrepenørskap og bedriftsutvikling 1, while VG3 offers Medie- og informasjonskunnskap 2, Reiseliv og språk 2, and Entrepenørskap og bedriftsutvikling 2. The DNSR portal provides access to the school library and related resources, including the Søk i skolens bibliotek feature.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Some activities we participate in during the year include Beach Day, Kreativ samarbeidssuke with OD, Aktivitetsdag i Pinjeskogen, Tine-stafetten, Juleverksted, Idrettsdag and Realfagsdag. There are overnight stays at the school and class trips during the final week of the school year to foster community and hands-on learning.
