German is taught from kindergarten through Abitur, with native-speaking teachers guiding instruction across many core and elective subjects. German as a foreign language is provided within this framework. English begins in primary, with a four-skills approach; the Abitur certificate attests level B2 in English. The school is an official Oxford Test of English center, offering OTE for Schools at the end of the 9th grade and OTE Advanced in upper secondary, with many candidates achieving C1. French is offered as a third foreign language from 10th grade, yielding level B1 on the Abitur. The Integration in Spanish-language Instruction (ISF) program supports German-speaking students to learn Spanish in small groups from age 3, with two years of ISF before joining regular Spanish instruction. The school also hosts the Goethe-Institut and serves as an Oxford Test of English Testzentrum.
The school offers a bilingual program that enables students to learn a foreign language intensively and at a high level. Language diversity is a core part of the program, with teachers from Germany, Spain, England and other countries. Native-speaking teachers contribute across many subjects to support language development.
German language immersion is central to the DSLPA. German is taught by native-speaking teachers across core and elective subjects. From 8:00 in the morning until the last class, students immerse themselves in German. The campus functions as an intercultural learning space where languages bridge cultures.
Deutsche Schule Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a German Auslandsschule offering a bilingual education, following the KMK-approved German curriculum for ages 3–18. From kindergarten to Abitur, students learn under native-speaking teachers from Germany, Spain and England, in small classes supported by digital media. The school is affiliated with Germany and maintains German quality standards. In February 2022 Bund-Länder-Inspektion awarded the school the Exzellente Auslandsschule seal, reflecting inspection excellence. The campus combines a main building with a garden, a separate classroom building, a library, an auditorium and a cafeteria; the primary school has its own courtyard. Facilities include a sports hall, an athletics track and multiple fields, set in a natural environment about 10 minutes from Las Palmas. DSLPA provides intercultural exchange, partner-school programs and competitions such as Jugend Musiziert and Model United Nations, and offers Bachillerato alongside the Abitur. After-school activities supplement the curriculum, fostering language development and inquiry.
