In 2015 the Deutsche Schule Madrid moved to its Montecarmelo campus. The campus is up to date with the latest technology in terms of home automation and environmental sustainability. Highlights include the generously designed break courtyards for kindergarten, primary and secondary, as well as sports facilities such as a modern multi-purpose hall and a football field. There are libraries, rooms for music, art and the sciences, an auditorium with natural light, and a spacious, bright canteen. The World Architecture Festival named the school the Most Beautiful School in the World.

Deutsche Schule Madrid is a German school and a bilingual German–Spanish institution in Madrid. It serves students from ages 3 to 18 and follows the German curriculum, with an orientation year in class 5 and tracks leading to Gymnasium or Haupt-/Realschule based on ability. The Abitur is completed after class 12 and is recognized for university study in Germany and Spain. German is the profile-defining subject, and instruction aligns with the standards of German Gymnasien, including native-level reading, writing, speaking and literary competencies. For German as a Foreign Language learners, extra language support is offered in the E-Zweig with integration into native-language classes by grade 9 and additional weekly hours.
