Deutsche Schule Madrid is a German school and a bilingual German–Spanish institution in Madrid. It serves students from ages 3 to 18 and follows the German curriculum, with an orientation year in class 5 and tracks leading to Gymnasium or Haupt-/Realschule based on ability. The Abitur is completed after class 12 and is recognized for university study in Germany and Spain. German is the profile-defining subject, and instruction aligns with the standards of German Gymnasien, including native-level reading, writing, speaking and literary competencies. For German as a Foreign Language learners, extra language support is offered in the E-Zweig with integration into native-language classes by grade 9 and additional weekly hours.
