Eurocampus Deutsche Schule in Palma de Mallorca is the only German Auslandsschule on the Balearic Islands authorized by the KMK to conduct final examinations on site in Palma de Mallorca in collaboration with the Deutsche Schule Barcelona and to take the Abitur there under the KMK decision of 10 December 2008. With the final examinations, students earn the Hauptschulabschluss (end of Grade 9), the Realschulabschluss (end of Grade 10), the qualification to progress to the gymnasiale Oberstufe (end of Grade 10), and the Abitur (end of Grade 12). It is the only German school on the Balearic Islands with an operating permit from the Conselleria de Educación and authorized to run as a regular school; it is also allowed to admit students with Spanish citizenship and to become a Begegnungsschule. Instruction follows the guidelines and curricula of recognized German Auslandsschulen on the Iberian Peninsula. The language of instruction is German; from first grade, Spanish is taught at native level, English as a foreign language, and Catalan for up to two hours per week. From fifth to seventh grade, Spanish includes Ciencias Sociales (biology, geography, history) and from seventh grade for Gymnasium students French. Eurocampus Deutsche Schule Palma de Mallorca is a private German international school serving ages 3 to 18. The language of instruction is German, and the school follows the guidelines and curricula of recognized German Auslandsschulen on the Iberian Peninsula. From first grade, Spanish is taught at native level and English is taught as a foreign language; Catalan is taught for up to two hours per week. From fifth to seventh grade, Spanish includes Ciencias Sociales (biology, geography, history); from seventh grade, French is offered to Gymnasium students. The curriculum differentiates instruction, allowing advanced students to work on material from the next grade while others may repeat as needed. Upon completing final exams, students earn Hauptschulabschluss (grade 9), Realschulabschluss (grade 10), eligibility for the gymnasiale Oberstufe (grade 10), and Abitur (grade 12). The Mallorca campus is authorized by KMK to conduct Abitur on site. The school also offers diverse extracurricular opportunities.
