The European School of Alicante provides education from Early Years through Secondary, culminating in the European Baccalaureate. A distinctive feature is its language section system, where students enroll in the English, Spanish, French, or German sections, taking core subjects in that specific language. For students whose mother tongue differs, the school provides the SWALS (Students Without A Language Section) program to maintain their native language proficiency. In Secondary year 6, students participate in a mandatory "Work Experience" program, spending two weeks in a professional internship environment to develop practical skills and inform future career choices. The campus includes specific facilities for art, music, ICT, alongside biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories. Extracurricular activities are managed by specialized organizations, Mundosport and Auca, providing sports and creative options. Situated in Alicante, the school emphasizes multilingualism, serving children of European institution staff alongside other local and international families.

Education starts at age 4 in the Early Education cycle and culminates with the European Baccalaureate Diploma in year 7 in Secondary. The Primary cycle lasts five years for pupils aged 6 to 10. Secondary is organized in three cycles: Observation (years 1-3, ages 11-13), Pre-orientation (years 4-5, ages 14-15), and Orientation (years 6-7, ages 16-18). All European Schools follow harmonised programmes, with the exception of the LI programme; the harmonised programmes are identical and updated under the supervision of Education Inspectors of the member countries. The European Baccalaureate diploma is awarded at the end of Secondary and is recognised by EU member states.
BAC results are published on PDFs for multiple years, including 2009-2019 and 2021-2023. The Baccalaureate requires an overall mark of 50% to receive the diploma.
