Extracurricular activities during school hours stimulate artistic, spatial, motor, sporting, linguistic and verbal abilities. The program includes paddle tennis, swimming, judo, ballet, modern dance, flamenco, theatre, kumon, robotics, piano and guitar, plus football, basketball and volleyball. After-school hours and weekends offer cultural and sporting activities through agreements with partner companies for Highlands students, families and neighbours. Highlands Arts Agora promotes arts and culture for personal and social development, with registration by phone or email.
Highlands Arts Agora offers a broad range of artistic activities, including music classrooms, group keyboard, individual instrument lessons, pre-dance and classical dance, Spanish dance and modern dance (Jazz, Hip Hop, Funky). Sevillanas, Zumba, Dramatization and Musical Theatre are also available. Rhythmic gymnastics and other performing arts activities are offered as part of the cultural program.
Three languages are taught: Spanish, English and French. The primary curriculum is taught in English (50%) and Spanish (50%), with three weekly French sessions introduced from 4th grade. Highlands is an official PET exam centre. Experiences abroad are offered to enrich internationalization, including academic stays via Oak Academies in the USA, Ireland and Switzerland.
Extracurricular activities include chess with internal tournaments, skating, rhythmic gymnastics and skiing and snowboarding. Riding is also offered, as well as paddle tennis, tennis and other court sports with clubs and schedules published for students, families and neighbours. These activities foster social interaction, teamwork and personal interests beyond the classroom.
Social action campaigns involve students in projects that foster sensitivity to the needs of others, creating students who are committed to transforming society.
Four Physical Education sessions are taught each week in the primary program. The sports program includes paddle tennis, football, basketball and volleyball, with tournaments such as Solidarity Cross and the Friendship Tournament. Swimming and other physical activities are available, supporting physical and mental well-being.
Highlands School El Encinar is a private, Catholic, trilingual school in La Moraleja, Madrid, serving ages 1–18. The curriculum blends a British-English-Spanish approach: from early childhood, students follow an integrated British-Spanish curriculum with a bespoke program; the Cambridge International path offers IGCSE exams in 4th ESO with a double qualification in British and Spanish, and an A-level route for the upper years. The school also offers a Leadership Baccalaureate with an A-Levels option. English language targets reach C1/C2, and French reaches B2 by Baccalaureate.
