The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award is offered to ISCAT Secondary students. Year 10 students prepare for the Bronze Award each year by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. The award is a natural progression from Forest School activities in Primary and helps students develop important life skills and independence, with experiences and friendships that stay with them.
ISCAT follows Forest School pedagogy, a learning approach that uses outdoor environments to teach and inspire. Forest School sessions occur weekly in settings such as forests, mountains or the beach, led by Forest School teachers. Outdoor learning fosters personal relationships, self-esteem, self-knowledge and environmental awareness.
