ISLA teaches mathematics, science and foundational subjects according to the British curriculum, with English, maths and Spanish taught daily in levelled groups to support progress. Foundational subjects are taught through project-based learning, enabling connections across subjects and practical application. The academic programme prepares students to undertake Cambridge or EDEXCEL IGCSE and A-level examinations. Individual development plans guide each student's progress, with support for high-ability learners and those with special educational needs.
ISLA collaborates with Mallorca Art School, a leading visual arts centre on the island. Afternoon Clubs include sports, music, English support and LEGO-club, providing creative and recreational activities after the school day. The Mallorca Art School partnership provides ongoing visual arts experiences for students.
Students are immersed in English and Spanish. English classes are offered through a tutoring programme to support language development. The school aims for fluency in both Spanish and English. English, maths and Spanish are taught daily within levelled groups to ensure inclusivity and progress.
ISLA runs monthly Discovery Days for students to explore learning outside the classroom. The Easter Bushcraft Camp offers outdoor learning experiences for children. Afternoon Clubs include sports, music, English support and LEGO-club for different ages. Daily outdoor activities and nature exploration are part of the regular routine.
Daily sports and outdoor activities are part of the ISLA routine. Students spend time in outdoor spaces, including the veggie garden and nature-based projects, with horses on campus. Outdoor learning promotes physical health, self-awareness, empathy and an appreciation for the natural world, supporting physical and mental wellbeing.
ISLA Academy in Manacor, Mallorca, opened in September 2024 to deliver British education with a distinct focus on sport and outdoor learning. The school follows a British curriculum framework, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations, with Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE options. Instruction is in English and Spanish, with daily language support in both languages. The program blends core subjects with project-based learning and frequent outdoor experiences, using the natural environment—forests, beaches, and campus spaces—for field trips, science investigations, and physical education. Each pupil receives an Individual Learning Plan to tailor progression for all abilities and diverse backgrounds, supported by a remedial teacher and an educational psychologist. Facilities emphasize movement and wellbeing: most days include outdoor lessons, sport, and field activities. A collaboration with Mallorca Art School enriches visual arts, while a range of on-site clubs and Discovery Days extend learning beyond the classroom. This approach supports learners.
