Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

ISLA Academy integrates movement and outdoor learning into the daily rhythm. Students spend at least half of the day outside, in lessons, sports or free play. The natural environment—forest, beach, and outdoor areas—is used for games, hikes, swimming and team activities, with regular field trips.

Sports Facilities

Sport is built into the weekly rhythm with activities such as gymnastics, athletics, capoeira, martial arts, yoga, horse riding and several team sports. Primary years have daily sport and outdoor physical activities; lower secondary has 5 hours of sport per week; upper secondary has 2–3 hours per week, with ongoing sport balanced alongside academics. The natural environment is frequently used for outdoor activity.

Academic Facilities

ISLA Academy combines a British-based international curriculum with a personalised learning approach. Each child receives an individual learning plan tailored to their strengths, interests and needs, with language support woven into daily lessons. English and Spanish are taught by native speakers. The program blends core academics (literacy, numeracy, science, humanities) with enriched learning (projects, outdoor education, arts and sport). A learning support team, including a remedial teacher and an educational psychologist, provides additional help as required.

Extra-Curricular Activities

On-site activities include gymnastics, athletics, capoeira, martial arts, yoga, horse riding and various team sports. Monthly field trips are organised for ISLA/MTA students and other secondary students from local and international communities based on interests in science, languages, humanities or arts.

ISLA Academy in Manacor, Mallorca, opened in September 2024 to deliver British education with a distinct focus on sport and outdoor learning. The school follows a British curriculum framework, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations, with Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE options. Instruction is in English and Spanish, with daily language support in both languages. The program blends core subjects with project-based learning and frequent outdoor experiences, using the natural environment—forests, beaches, and campus spaces—for field trips, science investigations, and physical education. Each pupil receives an Individual Learning Plan to tailor progression for all abilities and diverse backgrounds, supported by a remedial teacher and an educational psychologist. Facilities emphasize movement and wellbeing: most days include outdoor lessons, sport, and field activities. A collaboration with Mallorca Art School enriches visual arts, while a range of on-site clubs and Discovery Days extend learning beyond the classroom. This approach supports learners.
