ISLA Academy was founded in September 2024 in Manacor, Mallorca, to provide more than a traditional international school. It identifies as an international learning community for sports, outdoor learning, and British education. The school aims to grow healthy, confident children aged 3 to 18 from around the world, developing their physical and mental skills and fluency in both English and Spanish. The academic program prepares students to undertake Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE and A-level examinations, and emphasizes daily sports and outdoor activities, as well as project-based learning across foundational subjects.
Students come from around the world and ISLA immerses them in English and Spanish, forming a multinational learning community that supports real-world problem solving and experiential learning. ISLA collaborates with multiple partners in Mallorca to enrich learning, including ROOTS Outdoor Adventures, Escuela Equina Sendero del Sol (horse riding), She Moves (women's fitness), Mallorca Art School, Mallorca Tutoring Academy, Building in Nature, and Community Days for parents and supporters. ISLA Discovery Days are held monthly, and events such as Easter Bushcraft Camp, Back2Balance Animal Experience, and horse-riding activities are offered along with regular afternoon clubs. ISLA emphasizes well-being and family involvement, with assemblies, mentor groups, and an ambassador programme.
ISLA Academy in Manacor, Mallorca, opened in September 2024 to deliver British education with a distinct focus on sport and outdoor learning. The school follows a British curriculum framework, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations, with Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE options. Instruction is in English and Spanish, with daily language support in both languages. The program blends core subjects with project-based learning and frequent outdoor experiences, using the natural environment—forests, beaches, and campus spaces—for field trips, science investigations, and physical education. Each pupil receives an Individual Learning Plan to tailor progression for all abilities and diverse backgrounds, supported by a remedial teacher and an educational psychologist. Facilities emphasize movement and wellbeing: most days include outdoor lessons, sport, and field activities. A collaboration with Mallorca Art School enriches visual arts, while a range of on-site clubs and Discovery Days extend learning beyond the classroom. This approach supports learners.
