The school opened in La Laguna, Tenerife, in 2021 with an initial capacity for 60 students (25 preschool and 35 primary). Kaleide's pedagogy combines experiential active learning and democratic education, with a focus on giving children time, space, and voice in their learning. It is authorized as a foreign school by the Department of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands and has been in the NEASC accreditation process since April 2020, currently holding Candidate status.
