King Richard III College follows the British education system within an international school setting, with programmes for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. In Key Stage 3, Year 7 studies medieval history, including the Norman invasion, feudalism, the Crusades, the Magna Carta and the Black Death; Year 8 covers modern history from the discovery of America in 1492 to the French Revolution; Year 9 includes topics on the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, the rise and fall of the slave trade, and the beginnings of the World Wars. The IGCSE History course (0470) surveys 20th‑century history from 1918 to 1980, including Germany 1918–1945, the Treaty of Versailles, the League of Nations, the Cold War, Eastern Europe 1945–1980, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War and the United Nations, assessed in three examination papers. At Key Stage 5, Cambridge International AS and A2 History (9389/9489) covers topics such as Empire and the emergence of world powers (1870–1919), the League of Nations and international relations in the 1920s–1930s, and China and Japan (1912–45); the second topic is The Origins and development of the Cold War between 1941 and 1950. Final assessment is by two written examinations.
King Richard III College nurtures a strong sense of community with a warm family atmosphere. Compassion and empathy are central values. Student Council members organise charity events for the whole school community, including Halloween Scary Movie Competition, Christmas Fayre, Valentines Flower Sale, and a 15km Sponsored Walk. Each year a charity is chosen as the Focus Charity, with all funds donated at year‑end celebrations; annual donations exceed €14,000. The Focus Charity has included Aldeas Infantiles (2021–2022) and AECC – Asociación Española Contra El Cáncer (2020–2021).
King Richard III College is a British international private day school located in Portals Nous, Mallorca, enrolling students from age 2 to 18. The curriculum combines the English national framework with Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS/A2 examinations, alongside Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and a bilingual Spanish pathway through Bachillerato. The school teaches core subjects from the Early Years Foundation Stage through Key Stages 2–5, culminating in A Levels, and offers Marine Science, Photography and Music at advanced levels.
