Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The Lycée Français International de Reus is a private, secular, multilingual, and international school. It began its journey in 1988 under the name Bon Soleil, welcoming the first students in kindergarten. Since then, the school has grown steadily, expanding its levels of instruction and services to become the current Lycée Français International de Reus, while maintaining its identity and core values. It is part of the Mission Laïque Française (MLF Monde), a network of international schools that broadens mobility within the same system and enriches students' academic and personal journeys. The language of instruction is French, with English, Catalan, and Spanish introduced from early years to promote real multilingualism.

Community

The school runs family-centered events and activities through the Family Space, including the family workshop 'La Moufle' (storytelling and crafts) to foster cooperation, sharing and creativity. The first edition brought children and adults together to sew a mitten inspired by the tale 'La Moufle.' Upcoming family workshops include a surprise reading for children, clay creation and crafts, free dance and body expression, family board games, and gardening and outdoor activities. These activities aim to support the overall development of children and provide quality time for families.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school has a Family Association (AFA) that participates in school life and coordinates activities to involve parents in the educational community. The AFA's activities are essential to life at the school, and the association organizes events such as family workshops like 'La Moufle.' Prochains ateliers familiaux include a reading surprise for children, clay creation and crafts, and other activities like dance, board games, and outdoor gardening. Participation by parents strengthens bonds between families and staff and enriches the school community. The school is part of the Mission Laïque Française network, which supports a broad international educational community.
