The Lycée Français International de Tenerife Jules Verne is a school that offers education from age 3 to 18, from preschool to the final year of secondary education. It is part of the Mission Laïque Française (MLF), a unique international network of 494 schools in 135 countries. The MLF has been a recognized public-benefit association since 1907 and is one of the two main operators of French education abroad, alongside the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). The establishment is located on the edge of Santa Cruz, just a short walk from the Conservatorio tram stop, in a university and artistic environment. Multilingualism is a central pillar of pedagogy; from age 3, students are immersed in Spanish and French, and English is added as a third language, with Cambridge and DELF/DALF certifications available through the school's status as an official center.
The school is a small, close-knit community where most students complete their entire schooling there. Teachers, parents and students know one another well, and strong communication and trust among adults support a calm and convivial climate conducive to student success. Families participate in life at the establishment through their representatives on official bodies such as school and establishment councils and they are involved in many school projects; French classes for families are offered within the lycée. The pedagogical approach emphasizes multilingualism, digital literacy, and educational technologies integrated across the curriculum, with tablets in early years and laptops in secondary, while keeping technology at the service of learning. Ongoing activities include student-led initiatives such as a web radio and regular news updates like Carnaval 2026.
Parents are represented by elected representatives who participate in life at the school. They engage through their representatives in official bodies such as school councils and establishment councils and contribute to numerous projects at the lycée. The representatives for primary and secondary can be contacted at consejoescolarlfit@gmail.com and consejoestablecimientolfit@gmail.com respectively. The PTA facilitates family involvement, including offerings such as French classes for families within the lycée. The school emphasizes collaboration with families to support student success and a sense of community.
On the edge of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Lycée Français International de Tenerife Jules Verne offers education for ages 3 to 18 within Mission Laïque Française. The school follows the French curriculum and provides a trilingual programme in French, English and Spanish, with English introduced early so students graduate multilingual for international study. It is an authorized Cambridge exam centre and DELF/DALF centre, and pupils graduate with Brevet or Baccalauréat from the French system, and with Graduado en ESO or Bachillerato from the Spanish system. The Bachibac double diploma enables university access in France, Spain and beyond. The campus is near university and arts environment, with IT integrated across the curriculum: every classroom has a computer, primary pupils use tablets, and secondary students use laptops. The mediathèque opened in 2019 and supports resources in French, Spanish and English. Well-being, individual support and arts, robotics and language programmes complete the offer.
