How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Complete and return the application form, together with the reservation fee. The Registration Form consists of three pages and must be filled as detailed as possible to ensure correct processing. The reservation fee can be paid at the School Admission Office or by wire transfer to Banco de Santander, account number 0049-5933-81-2216056232. The first course has a 100% discount on the reservation fee, which will be refunded as soon as the registration is formalized.

2. Personal interview with parents or guardians and the pupil. The interview is part of the admissions process and follows the submission of the application form. It provides an opportunity to discuss the pupil's background and aims. The school may arrange the interview at a time convenient for the family.

3. If the Direction considers it necessary, some admittance tests or pre-evaluations will be carried out on the pupil. The tests assess readiness for the chosen course. They may be conducted at the Direction's discretion. The results inform admission decisions.

4. Written, email or telephone confirmation of pupil's admission. The confirmation indicates that the pupil has secured a place in the program. It may be issued after the interviews and any required tests. The confirmation is a formal step in the admissions process.

5. Payment of the admission fees, according to what is indicated in the price list. Payments can be made by direct debit or by direct payment at the school. The price list provides the amounts and payment schedule.

6. Delivery of the documentation mentioned in Condition II. The school reserves the right to admission at every phase of the process. The documentation must be provided as part of the admissions process.

II) OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION:

7. Official documentation must be presented before entering MIT School. Parents/Guardians are responsible for presenting the pupil's academical dossier. They must provide the documents in a complete form. The school may request additional documents as needed.

8. When the pupil enters the school after confirmation of the admission, the following documents should be presented: originals or certified copies of Birth Certificate or Libro de Familia for Spanish nationals, or a certified copy of the passport for other nationalities; a copy of the DNI or passport of the parents/guardians.

9. An official medical certificate (including vaccinations) and a paediatrician's note for any allergies or medical needs; one passport-size photograph; the academic dossier or certificates from previous schools.

10. For Spanish Bachillerato students, the Libro de Escolaridad or a certificate from the Spanish Ministry of Education confirming validation of previous studies.

11. The school may request additional documents as needed.

III) SCHOOL FEES AND PAYMENT:

12. The school services are contracted annually. 13. Fees and charges are divided into 10 monthly payments expected on the five first days of every month from September until June. 14. All the payments can be carried out by direct debit or by direct payment at the school. 15. The reservation of the school places for the next course should be requested yearly before the end of February.

IV) SCHOOL RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT:

16. The parents will respect the internal rules of the school that affect the general discipline as well as the code of conduct and dress code. 17. It is mandatory that all the pupils wear the school uniform at school and at any official organized act. All the items should be marked with the pupil's full name. 18. Any absence of the pupil at school should be notified as soon as possible by the family. On returning to school children must bring a written justification of absence explaining the reason of absence signed by the parents/ guardians. 19. The school reserves the right to suspend or expel pupils who break the established rules. 20. The parents or guardians should inform the school, in writing, on any changes in the information given in this application form, as well as changes in the conditions of the guard or custody as soon as possible, bringing in these cases a copy of the judicial resolution or administrative correspondence. The school is not responsible for any related incidents until the new parental situation has been communicated.

V) SECURITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:

21. Students may not leave the school on their own unless special permission from the parents is provided to the school. Pupils should always be picked up at school by their parents or guardians (known by the tutors and Direction of the School). In any other case a written and signed authorization of the parents should be presented. 22. The school has security cameras in the common areas during school hours. The parents agree on the use, by the School, of these recordings for disciplinary and security reasons. 23. Parents are liable for any deliberate damage caused by their child to school property or to that belonging to teachers, other employees or other pupils. 24. The school has an insurance that covers the accidents that could occur to the pupils during the school activities. In case of a severe accident we will call Emergency Phone 061, which central is located at PTA. 25. The school is not responsible for the supervision of pupils left on the school facilities 15 minutes before or after the school hours, unless they are attending a special class or are enrolled on a specially supervised group.

VI) L.O.P.D.:

26. Parents authorize the possible use of their child's photograph on the school's website. If you do not want the picture of your child to appear on the website please notify us in writing at MIT School, C / Severo Ochoa 63, 29590 Malaga. 27. The school handles personal data in accordance with data protection laws and provides information about data protection on request.

VII) OTHER SERVICES:

28. The optional or extracurricular activities should be contracted yearly, and paid as indicated above. 29. Lunch is not mandatory. 30. Bus service is contracted yearly and should be indicated on the Application form. The payment for this service should be charged monthly.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Via Lactea (Galaxy) program offers scholarships for gifted students to study at MIT School Málaga. Gifted students who join the Via Lactea program may receive scholarships to study at MIT School.

MIT School Málaga is a private bilingual school authorized by the Junta de Andalucía to teach in Spanish and English. About 90% of the curriculum is taught in English, with Spanish integrated throughout. From age 3, Mandarin Chinese is introduced; German begins in the first year of Primary; French and Russian are extracurriculars. The school offers Educación Infantil, Primaria, Secundaria, and Bachillerato, including Bachillerato Internacional – Doble titulacion. The Bachillerato is bilingual across its three modalities—Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, Ciencias y Tecnología, Artes—and includes university guidance. The campus features sustainability measures such as a domotic building and solar energy, and facilities including a library, dining hall, robotics and science laboratories, an art room, a language-support space, and music and dance rooms. Sports facilities include a dojo, basketball court, football pitch, paddle courts, golf, and equestrian stables near a lake in Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía. Extracurriculars include Robotics Lab, Equestrian, Aikido, Music and Dance Conservatories, Chinese Culture School, and German programs. Cambridge English and HanBan Chinese examinations are offered.
