La Casita Montessori Almería opened in September 2015 as the first Montessori project in Almería, staffed by AMI-trained guides. In September 2016 Montessori School Almería opened as a British School to continue Montessori education into the Primary stage. Montessori School Almería combines British education with Montessori pedagogy, following the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum of England, with English as the main language. The educational team includes UK-qualified teachers and AMI-trained Montessori staff. The school is small, with an approximate ratio of 20 children to 2 educators.

Montessori School Almería offers a distinctive blend of British education and AMI Montessori pedagogy for children aged 2 to 12. English is the main language of instruction, with Spanish taught by qualified teachers. The Primary program follows the English National Curriculum alongside Montessori approaches. Classrooms are multi-age, with small sizes—about 20 children per 2 educators—and a British-qualified class teacher supported by an AMI Montessori guide in primary, plus English-speaking specialists for PE, Music, Spanish and French. The timetable runs Monday to Friday, with organic lunch and after-school activities. Facilities include a sea-side setting, outdoor play spaces, sports courts, skate ramps, and a garden with composting and recycling. The program covers English, Mathematics, Sciences, History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, Languages (Spanish, French), Music and Physical Education.
