O Castro British International School teaches British Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge A Levels, Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, French Curriculum for students aged 3 to 18.
The school follows the English National Curriculum for children aged 3–18. It has full immersion in English from day one and a multilingual programme including Spanish, Galician and French. Early Years and Primary School develop foundational literacy and numeracy while nurturing social and emotional skills. In Secondary, students follow Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) before a two-year IGCSE programme culminating in examinations. In the final two years, Sixth Form, students study A-Levels in chosen subjects.
IGCSE results show a clear upward trend. In 2023, 81% of students achieved A-C across all subjects. In 2024, 55% achieved A-B. In 2025, 56% achieved A-B and 81% achieved A-C.

All staff contribute to creating a secure, happy and confident school environment.
The school has a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Department with a SENCO and SEN Team. The SEN Team works with tutors and the School Counsellor to support students in their studies and with challenges they may face in or out of school, helping with mental health and wellbeing.
