The school offers a wide range of Edexcel A Level subjects with small classes and increased teacher contact time. Students receive 15 minutes a week of one-to-one time with each subject teacher. The school is an Edexcel examination centre and runs a comprehensive enrichment and next steps programme. University preparation begins in Lower Six with careers advice, university searches and guidance on UCAS and SAT requirements for UK and USA universities.
The school has two art studios and a drama studio. Art School applications are conducted by interview together with a portfolio. The enrichment programme includes cultural activities and guest speakers from the arts and creative sectors, complementing drama and visual arts as part of student life.
The language of teaching is English. The school offers English Language, French, German and Spanish as subjects, and IELTS preparation is available; IELTS tests occur on two opportunities each year.
The enrichment programme provides activities beyond academics such as cooking and healthy eating, financial skills and planning, interview skills, emotional intelligence, team building, yoga and meditation, as well as critical thinking, planning, study and research skills. Guest speakers including entrepreneurs, charities and artists broaden students' horizons. Participation in enrichment activities supports personal development and social skills.
Careers guidance is integral, with psychometric testing available and a dedicated careers library. Work experience forms a vital part of the education journey, with GAP Year information and opportunities to travel or pursue relevant experiences; some arrangements can lead to university offers being deferred. Parents are welcome to discuss careers with staff, and staff work with students to plan pathways to their chosen professions.
The enrichment programme is designed to broaden horizons and equip students with confidence for life beyond Palma College. It includes Yoga and meditation, planning, and activities on healthy living, as well as cooking and healthy eating. Emotional intelligence, teamwork and wellbeing are emphasized through workshops and talks from diverse professionals.
Palma College is an independent international sixth-form college in Palma, Mallorca, established in 2012. It delivers the British Edexcel curriculum for ages 16–18, offering AS and A2 Levels (and BTEC) with English as the language of teaching. The Lower Sixth studies four AS Level subjects with five and a half teaching hours per subject each week, plus a 15‑minute weekly tutor meeting; the Upper Sixth focuses on three A2 Level subjects with seven hours per subject and ongoing personal tutorials. The college is an Edexcel examination centre with a comprehensive enrichment and Next Steps Programme that supports university applications worldwide, including UCAS and SAT guidance.
