Culture of Thought drives the Pérez Iborra educational project, blending an 80-year teaching tradition with modern international methodologies. The school has a long history dating back to 1939 and emphasizes university preparation with strong results on Catalan basic skills tests, supported by a dedicated, highly qualified staff. The Culture of Thought supports a learning culture based on metacognition, with thinking routines, mind habits, thinking maps and thinking keys guiding student inquiry. English is taught across all stages, Cambridge exams are offered, and English is taught throughout the curriculum, with subjects taught in English across stages.
Art is integrated through the Culture of Thought, with culture-focused events such as a primary-week unit Where art is Culture and a project on Antoni Tàpies, including a visit to Fundació Tàpies and reflective thinking activities. Extracurricular activities include Art, musical awareness, robotics and various sports, taught by specialized teachers, to enrich creative expression and hands-on learning.
The school is trilingual, using Catalan, Spanish and English, with communication across the school in these languages. English is taught throughout all stages, and subjects are presented in English, supported by Cambridge exams and language immersion opportunities. Language immersion trips are offered, and English-language subjects extend across the curriculum to foster bilingual and multilingual exposure.
Extracurricular activities include sustainability on the Green Roof, musical awareness, Art, robotics, French and various sports, taught by specialized teachers and scheduled after school (and at noon for Primary). Students act as school ambassadors, with 4th ESO representatives presenting at Rosa Sensat events under the guidance of the coordinator of pedagogical innovation, showcasing the Culture of Thought in action. The school promotes student leadership through formats like three-way tutoring (teacher–student–family) and other student-led initiatives, including Batxillerat open doors led by students.
Meals are freshly cooked on site, designed by nutritionists around the Mediterranean diet, with menus that accommodate allergies or intolerances and hygiene checks every day. The dinner hall is supervised by teachers to promote good table manners and healthy eating. The Psychopedagogical Counselling Department supports emotional well-being, coordinates early intervention for students with special educational needs and provides in-house programs for gifted students. The Green Roof provides a large outdoor learning space with a garden, hydroponics, an insect hotel, aromatic plants, solar panels and a weather station, complementing a range of extracurricular activities that foster physical activity and well-being.
