Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Queen's College was founded in 1977 and educates around 400 pupils aged 3 to 18. The curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, with supplementary studies from Spain's Ministry of Education for Spanish-speaking students and others. Students aged 15 to 18 sit GCSE and A-Level examinations, while the Spanish section provides homologations to the Graduado en Educación Secundaria and Bachillerato, enabling access to university under the EU system. The school emphasizes exam success while promoting a broad education that develops leadership, cooperation and adaptability.

Arts and Creative

Art is offered as an extracurricular activity, with an Art club for Year 7-9. These after-school activities extend classroom work, allowing students to start and develop interests and acquire new skills. The arts program supports creative exploration alongside academic study.

Cultural and Language

Queen's Lingua provides a team of native, experienced teachers. Learning is experiential, with English as the vehicle language in classrooms and a focus on conversation and real-life situations. External examinations are available at any level under European or Cambridge frameworks. The school supports multilingual learning and offers exposure to English, Spanish, Catalan, German and French in an international setting.

Social and Hobbies

Extra-curricular activities complement classwork by enabling students to develop interests and learn new skills. Current offerings include Little Penguins (N-Y2), Psychomotricidad (N-R), Homework Club (Y2-6 and Y7-9), German (Y3-6), Science (Y6-9), Chinese (Y7-13), Art (Y7-9) and Study Group (Y10). Sports for Year 2-6 include football, judo and rhythmic gymnastics.

Community and Service

The school fosters a humanitarian community that respects and cares for all members and encourages students to empathize with others and take action to help. The main fundraising event is the Christmas Fair, held each year in mid-November, which supports local and international causes.

Leadership and Professional

From Year 7, the Careers team provides information about higher education and career choices. All Year 11 and Year 12 students have individual interviews with the Careers Advisor. A structured careers education program in Year 12 and Year 13 provides guidance on applying to higher education, including UK universities, with the process conducted electronically by the school. The school hosts university representatives and organizes visits to university fairs in the UK and Spain.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The school aims to meet students' academic, physical, social and emotional needs to help them reach their potential. A school psychologist works with students who may have learning, behavioural, social or emotional challenges, offering individualized support and collaborating with parents and teachers to ensure effective assistance.
