Boarding Arrangements

The school is a co-educational day school for children aged 2 to 18.

Uniform Requirement

Uniform is mandatory. Girls wear a white blouse or short-sleeved polo with badge, a navy jumper and blazer with piping, and a grey skirt (Nursery–Year 6 summer dress); a navy anorak completes the outfit. Boys wear a white shirt or short-sleeved polo with badge, a navy jumper and blazer with piping, grey trousers (shorts permitted in the junior school) and a tie; a navy anorak completes the look. A gym kit is worn for PE (tracksuit, blue shorts, T-shirt).

Food Options

Lunch is provided with monthly menus that are regularly reviewed; meals are cooked in brand new kitchen facilities by our Kitchen staff; the menus follow FAO and Comunidad de Madrid guidelines; there is always a grilled meat and/or fish option with vegetables, fresh salad and fruit, and water or milk; alternate menus for special diets can be downloaded as PDFs.

House System

The House System comprises four houses: Austen, Keynes, Locke and Newton. Every pupil is assigned to a House on joining; family members are in the same House. House Points are awarded for conduct and work, and scores are announced at assemblies; the winning House receives the House Cup and an Interhouse Sports Cup is awarded.

Governance and Ownership

The school is independent, not owned by a private group or investor. A charitable foundation, Fundación Runnymede College, exists to support its work.

Runnymede College is a private, co‑educational UK‑curriculum school located in La Moraleja, Madrid, serving pupils from ages 2 to 18. The curriculum follows the English National Curriculum, offering EYFS, British Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge A Levels. The Senior School operates a timetable of fifty forty‑minute lessons per week, with subject specialists teaching mixed‑ability classes and sets in English, Languages, Maths and Science where appropriate. The Foundation Stage is taught in an English‑language environment, while Spanish Language & Literature and Spanish Social Sciences are provided to Spanish‑speaking pupils; English‑speaking staff complement the teams. The campus features a Prep School building, the Frank Murphy Memorial Library, landscaped entrances and squares, and plans for additional sports facilities next summer. Extracurricular activities include Chess Club, Steam Club, Drama Club, Ballet and a Music Academy. The Duke of Edinburgh Award and the House System promote leadership, teamwork and resilience within a liberal, family‑oriented ethos.
