Language Provision

Language learning opportunities and multilingual education

Language Provision

English is the language of instruction. The school provides English Language Development (ELD) and Spanish Language Development (SLD) for students who have not yet mastered these languages. A dedicated language development team supports learners to access the curriculum, and ELD aims to improve fluency in English while supporting transitions between year groups. SLD supports students' ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and to access the curriculum in Spanish. Mother tongue development in Spanish (Lengua) and Social Studies (Sociales) is encouraged, and foreign languages such as French and Chinese are taught in dedicated foreign language classrooms.

Bilingual Teaching

The school uses English as the language of instruction and learning. English is spoken by all staff and students across the school day, with Spanish developed as a mother tongue in Sociales and Lengua. The school fosters bilingualism in a multicultural, multilingual community where students can develop English proficiency while maintaining their mother tongues.
