English is the language of instruction and learning. Infant Education uses English immersion throughout the day with only one Catalan language class. Primary Education teaches all subjects in English, with Spanish and Catalan taught three hours per week, and French introduced in the final Primary year. Secondary Education continues the English immersion; in Secondary 3 and 4 some subjects are taught in Spanish or Catalan to prepare for further education, and French is continued as a second foreign language. In the Baccalaureate, English is used for English language and literature and some options, while most other subjects are taught in Spanish/Catalan, with Spanish and French continuing as language subjects.
