It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Sa Llavor organizes the curriculum through interdisciplinary monthly projects that connect different knowledge areas to life, supporting holistic and practical development of learning abilities across subjects. This approach promotes integrated thinking and real-world relevance in students' learning. Examples of interdisciplinary projects include a loom weaving project, the Garden Project, and 'The Whole Contains the Parts'.
Art is central to Sa Llavor; daily school life is filled with artistic and craft activities such as painting, sculpture, weaving, theatre, dance, poetry, singing, and music. The school designs quarterly artistic processes that connect all arts to create a shared project.
Children participate daily in activities that care for the environment and for others, including tending the garden, kitchen tasks, helping organize the library, and maintaining the school. These activities promote experiential learning, encourage cooperative work, and foster teamwork and service to others.
Regular physical activity activates the body and mind. Students engage in gymnastics, basketball, baseball, athletics, and traditional games; examples include AcroSport as a warm-up for Judo and Aikido, Yoga and Acroyoga to connect body and mind, and Judo and Aikido to develop balance, patience, and care for others. Daily contact with nature and weekly outdoor excursions support emotional, intellectual, and social development, and contemplative practices help students listen to their inner self.
Sa Llavor School is an independent, autonomous institution in Mallorca that teaches Holistic Pedagogy to students aged 2 to 16. Founded in 2007 in Mancor de la Vall and now located in Binissalem, it is the first approved center in the Balearics to offer Holistic Pedagogy for early childhood and primary education. It operates within Fundació Sa Llavor, a nonprofit that funds access and project development. The curriculum uses Holistic Pedagogy as its core approach, drawing knowledge across subjects through interrelated, practical learning connected with nature and the arts. Learning aims to address vital, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs, promoting integral development and the ability to think, feel, and live freely. The center emphasizes four principles: Integral Development, Freedom and Trust, Connection with Life, and Community and Service to Others. Weekly outdoor excursions, daily arts activities, and interdisciplinary monthly projects—such as loom weaving and the Garden Project—illustrate its program.
