The British School of Almería follows the official British curriculum and is fully recognised and accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a NABSS member. The Secondary curriculum is divided into Key Stage 3 (Year 7–Year 8) and Key Stage 4 (Year 9–Year 11) and includes English, ICT, Mathematics, Art, Science, Music, French or German, History, Geography, Spanish and Social Studies. Key Stage 4 is a two-year programme (Year 9–Year 11) that prepares pupils for their IGCSE examinations. Examinations are (i)GCSEs graded A–G, with at least five IGCSEs at grades A–C required, and the certificate is awarded alongside the Spanish curriculum, achieving a dual English and Spanish qualification.
BSA Music School offers instrument instruction and allows pupils to obtain official certificates if pursued. Music is taught as a subject in the curriculum (Music). Art is offered as an optional subject within the curriculum.
BSA Music School and VAS Sports Club are the preferred extracurricular activities for secondary pupils. The Music School allows students to learn to play an instrument professionally and to obtain official certificates. VAS Sports Club offers sports such as swimming, cycling, athletics and triathlon, with activities available at the school or nearby, and these programs are supported by experienced teachers.
VAS Sports Club provides opportunities for physical activity, including swimming, cycling, athletics and triathlon. Music activities through the BSA Music School contribute to student engagement outside lessons. The school focuses on personal and emotional development to support wellbeing. The British School of Almería is a private British international school in Almería serving students aged 3 to 18. It delivers a British curriculum across Early Years Foundation Stage, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form. The language of instruction is English, with Spanish literacy embedded in the Early Years and Spanish curriculum components integrated in later stages. Primary core subjects include English, Mathematics and Science, taught alongside Spanish language and Social Studies.
