The English Centre is a family school at heart, with a community made up of pupils and families and school staff to develop the Identity Project. From its founding by Mrs. Randell, it has maintained a family‑oriented environment that supports learning, personal development and a balance between family and school life. It has implemented the EFR model developed by the Mas Familia Foundation, endorsed by the Ministry of Health, and recognised as Good Practice by the UN; in November it passed the external audit and earned the EFR certificate with a grade B. Families participate in school life through events such as the Eisteddfod, Family Day and the Coleci Cup, and communication with families is supported via AMPA, the ECINET Platform, family‑tutor forums and tutorials.
AMPA is the parents' association that participates in school life. Meetings are held periodically with families and with AMPA. Family‑tutor forums, in‑situ tutorials, a digital diary and other digital communications (ECINET) are used to engage families. Families take an active part in school life and share the School's Mission, Vision and Values, offering suggestions and comments. AMPA participates in forums and communication channels to support family involvement. This structure supports a collaborative school culture.
The English Centre in Spain is a private, independent, multilingual, non-denominational, co-educational school serving ages 2 to 18. It operates as a Cambridge International School, delivering The International Curriculum from Early Years to Cambridge Secondary, with a bespoke curriculum and a British framework. The programme includes Cross-Cultural Activities, pedagogical innovation, and teacher development, taught in English with 21st-century pedagogy and technology. Early Years education is active learning in an English environment, based on the Seeds for Life project (extension of the IC for EY). In Primary, Literacy and Topics are emphasised, supported by a Classroom Language Assistant; Secondary uses Project Based Learning and provides access to external exams and exchanges. The campus offers themed classrooms and outdoor spaces, plus Looking to the Future spaces for debates, robotics, and reading. Extracurriculars include Robotics, Music, and German language study. Since 1969, the school has offered opportunities such as Model European Parliament globally.
