The English School opened in September 2002 in Mutxamel. In January 2003 it obtained the British Council certificate, and in February 2003 it received authorisation from the Generalitat Valenciana's Conselleria de Educación y Ciencia. The school is located in a residential area of Mutxamel and is accessible from nearby towns such as El Campello, San Juan, Villafranqueza, San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante and Torrellano. The English School is a British multicultural school with pupils from different nationalities, although the majority of students are Spanish.
The English School is independent, mixed and international, and multicultural, with the British Curriculum used as the teaching framework. Academic success is a priority within a family atmosphere that promotes respect, personal responsibility and the enjoyment of learning. Cultural enrichment comes from the acquisition of English and Spanish language, history and culture, and there is social commitment through involvement in cooperative and supportive activities. Family participation is valued, with meetings at the start of the school year to inform parents about activities and objectives, termly tutor meetings, and a Communication Book to facilitate daily parent–teacher communication.
Founded in 2002, The English School of Mutxamel is a private centre certified by the British Council and authorised by the Generalitat Valenciana, delivering the British Curriculum through Pearson Edexcel IGCSE. It serves ages 3 to 17, with Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Primary (KS1–KS2) and Secondary (KS3, KS4, Sixth Form). The school supports an international cohort, with pupils from multiple nationalities and a majority of Spanish students. Entry to universities in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the EU is facilitated by accreditation and IGCSE/A‑Level qualifications; Spanish universities are accessible via fase específica. Facilities include an on-site kitchen, a modern indoor heated swimming pool, an ecological garden, air‑conditioned classrooms, a theatre, and sports pitches. A bus service links Mutxamel with nearby towns. After school, creative, technological and sports activities run until 5:00 pm, and teaching staff are largely native English speakers meeting British Council requirements. Welcoming international families and students.
