Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

The Til·ler is an accredited Waldorf-Steiner school located in the natural surroundings of Bellaterra. It offers Infantil, Primària, Secundària and Batxillerat. The curriculum is structured to meet the developmental needs of each age, and the teacher's task is to keep alive the enthusiasm for learning throughout schooling. The school uses natural materials and the surrounding environment as integral parts of learning, and it has its own kitchen that serves organic food. The spaces are designed to help students develop their talents and individuality.

Academic Facilities

The Waldorf pedagogy underpins the curriculum at all levels. In Primària, learning is integrated across cognitive, artistic and practical activities with a tutor accompanying the group. In Secundària, the curriculum combines scientific, humanistic and artistic studies and includes creative activities and field trips, with individualized accompaniment. Two tutors supervise students from 3rd ESO to 2nd Bachillerat to support development and personal growth. Art education supports the inner life through music, eurhythmics and visual arts. Batxillerat offers scientific, humanities and artistic tracks and prepares students for university entry and PAU, with an optional 13th course to prepare PAU if needed.

Extra-Curricular Activities

In Infantil, the learning environment is family-like, with groups of 15–20, a natural and healthy setting, and weekly forest excursions, garden care and sensory exploration. Learning activities include storytelling, puppetry, bread making, circle games, and crafts with natural materials to foster imagination, movement, rhythm and initiative. In Primària, students engage with real experiences in the local environment, such as third graders plowing, planting and harvesting wheat, reinforcing nature awareness. In Secundària, field trips, pedagogical stays and exchanges are part of the program, including a first contact with the workplace through a farm stay. In Batxillerat, theatre projects are undertaken as a collective and personal challenge, and a final multidisciplinary project (Treball Anual) is produced with mentorship. The school also offers social internships at care facilities and a PAU preparation track if needed, along with ongoing engagement in music, eurhythmics and visual arts as part of the adolescence experience.
