Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Waldorf-Steiner El Til·ler pedagogy is based on deep knowledge of the human being from physical, emotional-cognitive (anímic) and biographical (spiritual) perspectives. The school respects each individual in their development, supports the collaborative work of the teaching staff, and maintains ongoing collaboration between families and the school. The curriculum emphasizes learning through art, experiential activities, and hands-on work, which nurtures emotional and social development. The tutor guides the class through the primary years to ensure coherent academic and emotional development. The school provides individualized accompaniment to support each student's growth. The movement is connected to UNESCO through its Associated Schools network, promoting democratic ideals, values education, multicultural work, and solidarity among schools.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is addressed through Waldorf pedagogy that treats the student holistically, incorporating emotional development alongside physical and cognitive growth. Students receive individualized accompaniment from teachers to nurture wellbeing across all stages. A tutor accompanies the class in primary years to provide coherent academic and emotional support. As emotions intensify during adolescence, artistic work and structured learning help students understand and transform their inner world while developing resilience. The school emphasizes collaboration between family and school to create a supportive emotional environment throughout all stages. The UNESCO-associated Waldorf network reinforces values of democracy, inclusion, and social responsibility as part of students' wellbeing.

Safeguarding

The school operates as a cooperative of families and teachers and is authorized by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Access is open to all children, regardless of cultural or social origin, with families committing to the educational process and respecting each child's way of thinking and feeling. A strong emphasis is placed on ongoing collaboration between families and the school to safeguard each student's development. The school's affiliation with UNESCO Associated Schools further supports democratic values, multicultural understanding, and solidarity among schools.
