Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Lyceum Guardian protects the learning journey, ensuring your child's education continues, even in the face of loss. It is built on trust and care and supports holistic growth by safeguarding both academic progress and emotional well-being through challenges. The Guardian provides term-fee coverage for Grade 01 and above (from the 2026/2027 academic year) with optional coverage for textbooks, workbooks, uniforms, and examination fees. It offers peace of mind to Lyceum families with a single registration that supports ongoing education.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Lyceum Day Care offers student counselling and speech therapy on request. A panel of well-qualified Lyceum staff provides expert advice for student needs. Lyceum Day Care emphasizes a nurturing, safe environment and tailored support to meet the developmental needs of children. Health and safety measures are implemented across Day Care centres, including staff trained in basic First Aid and Fire Safety, with regular safety checks. Personalised care programmes are available to meet individual needs.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The International Curriculum at Lyceum is taught in English Medium (Pearsons Edexcel). The National Curriculum is taught in English Medium. Sinhala and Tamil are taught as second languages from Grades 1 to 8, and foreign students must study at least one language. Other languages such as French or Mandarin Chinese are available in selected schools.

Mental Wellbeing

The Lyceum Guardian emphasizes emotional well-being as part of comprehensive education continuity. Lyceum Day Care fosters well-balanced development and supports emotional and physical well-being. Student counselling is available at Lyceum Day Care upon request. The program aims to support resilience and social-emotional development across Lyceum branches.

Safeguarding

The Lyceum Guardian is a safeguarding initiative designed to protect the learning journey, ensuring education continues through life's uncertainties. It provides term-fee coverage for Grade 01 and above from the 2026/2027 academic year, with optional coverage for textbooks, uniforms and International examination fees. Lyceum International School is a co-educational network of campuses across Sri Lanka, founded in 1993 by Honourable Dr. Mohan Lal Grero to provide English-medium education from pre-school to Grade 12. The school offers two Upper School curricula: Pearson Edexcel International Curriculum and the National Curriculum taught in English Medium. Primary (Grade 1–5) and Middle (Grade 6–8) stages follow core subjects in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, plus Sinhala/Tamil, Art, Music, Physical Education and Computing (mandatory for Grades 1–8). Bharatha Natyam and Cultural Dancing are offered in selected branches. The Lyceum Global Foundation Programme is a one-year university-entry pathway approved by TVEC, with partnerships across Academic English, Fundamentals of Mathematics, Understanding Organisations and ICT. Facilities include karate dojo, computer lab, library, auditorium, science labs, tropical pool with lifeguards, and a gym, plus on-site health support. Clubs such as Debating Club, Model United Nations and Art Circle Society enrich learning globally.
