Chess Club participates in the Colombo District Youth Chess Championship and Yoshida Challenge Trophy, achieving Semi-Final and Final placements. A dedicated chess coach oversees training, with a track record of training national champions. Students develop strategic thinking and concentration through regular practice and inter-house competitions.
Dance is an integral part of Oasis International School's education, reducing stress, building confidence and promoting mindfulness through dedicated instruction. Art education nurtures creativity and visual literacy, with student achievements showcased in exhibitions and competitions. Western Band and Choir provide instrumental and vocal training, with stage performances that enrich the musical experience. Physical Education is integrated into the curriculum across all age groups, with students encouraged to participate in at least two extracurricular sports each term. From Pre-School, swimming lessons are included, with an on-site pool and a dedicated swimming coach; swimming is also offered as an after-school activity. The school hosts annual Inter-House Sports and Swimming Meets, Cricket Tournaments, Football Playoffs and Karate Tourneys to promote fitness and teamwork. The campus spans over an acre with in-house swimming pool, large grounds and spacious indoor and outdoor areas that support physical activities.
Oasis International School, Colombo, founded in 2000, is a private international school located in Colombo 12, Sri Lanka. It serves ages 2–18 (play class through Grade 12) and offers two curricula: Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and the Sri Lankan National Curriculum, with English as the medium of instruction in Primary. In Grades 1–5, pupils may follow either path; the Edexcel option provides IGCSE Ordinary Levels with two streams (Science and Commerce) and subject combinations such as Biology–Chemistry–Physics with Mathematics; or Accounting–Business Studies–Economics–ICT; or Chemistry–ICT–Mathematics–Physics. In Grades 9–12, both curriculums are taught; Edexcel offers IGCSE in Grade 10 and International Advanced Level in Grades 11–12, while the National Curriculum leads to the National GCE Ordinary Level in Grade 11. Oasis is a subsidiary of M. D. Gunasena. The campus has spacious classrooms, modern science laboratories, and a library of about 6,000 books in English, Sinhala and Tamil. The auditorium hosts music, theatre and dance; on-site facilities include a swimming pool, flood-lit futsal, football and cricket. Edexcel World Prizes recognize top marks in a subject at World, Regional or Country levels.
