Royal Institute International School – Nugegoda, located at No. 223, Stanley Tilakaratne Mawatha, serves learners from Lower Nursery to Advanced Level. The school offers IMYC alongside the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Early years follow the AMI curriculum, while Grades 1 to Advanced Level are supported by National and Cambridge frameworks, with Cambridge and Edexcel options offered within the overall curriculum. Royal Institute International School - Nugegoda teaches IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum), IB (PYP), IB (MYP) for students aged 2 to 18.
AMI curriculum is used for early childhood at Nugegoda. National and Cambridge curricula are used for learners from lower grades to Advanced Level. Cambridge and Edexcel are also offered alongside National, as part of the overall academic framework. The school follows AMI for early years and National and/or Cambridge curricula for Grades 1 to Advanced Level. Students are prepared for National GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations, and for Cambridge Ordinary Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level, and Advanced Level examinations.

1. Primary Admissions (Nursery to Grade 10). Parents/Guardians who wish to admit a child contact the Secretary (Admissions) at Havelock Town or any branch schools at Nugegoda, Maharagama, Maya Avenue, and Gampaha. The student sits for a placement test before admission. Admission is based on the marks scored. Required documents include a copy of the Birth Certificate and two stamp-size photographs.
2. Ordinary Level Admissions. Students enrolling for O-Level studies have to face a placement test before admission. Admission is based on marks obtained and the ability of the student. Required documents include a copy of the Birth Certificate, leaving certificate from the previous school, and two stamp-size photographs.
3. Advanced Level Admissions. Students enrolling for A-Level studies can select their stream and subject combinations based on the subjects being offered at the school. The students have to attend an interview with the Vice Principal and/or Principal after the above process. Admission requirements for Edexcel / National A-Levels are passes in not less than six subjects at the Cambridge O-Levels, IGCSE or Local O-Levels including Maths and English with at least three B passes and preferably a minimum of two B passes in the offering subjects for the A/Level course. Students can apply with pending OL results. Required documents include a copy of the Birth Certificate, a copy of the O-Level result sheet, leaving certificate of the previous school, and two stamp-size photographs.
