Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Homework Club provides a quiet, supportive space for all PYP and MYP students to focus on their studies and complete assignments. The Book Bowl challenges students' literary knowledge, followed by the Iris Book Award, which involves reading a set list of books and competing with international schools across Europe. The Lego Robotics Club lets students design, build, and program Lego robots, developing problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. These activities foster independent study habits and intellectual curiosity beyond regular lessons.

Arts and Creative

Drama Club develops acting, storytelling, and stage performance, with rehearsals after school and a-musical project in progress (An Inspector Calls). The School Band rehearses weekly and performs at Lucia and the school musical, with auditions held for selection. The School Choir is open to all students, with separate PYP and MYP choirs that perform at Lucia, the school musical, and other events. The Film Club offers screenings and explorations of cinema history, meeting every one or two weeks after school.

Cultural and Language

Nordic Network connects Bladins with international peers across the Nordic and Baltic regions, giving students opportunities to learn, compete, and build a broader global perspective. Selected students represent BISM in the Nordic Network Games, competing in sports such as handball, badminton, and soccer, while fostering international friendships. The Network enhances cultural exchange and a wider sense of community within a high-quality international education context. The Book Bowl and Iris Book Award also contribute to literary culture across schools in Europe.

Social and Hobbies

Drama Club, Lego Robotics Club, Film Club, and the School Band/Choir provide after-school spaces for creative, technical, and social engagement. These clubs meet after school on established days, offering students opportunities to collaborate, pursue interests, and build friendships beyond the classroom. The Book Bowl and Iris Book Award likewise cultivate collaborative, interest-based participation among peers.

Leadership and Professional

Student Council offers a clear path to involvement, with class representatives helping voice student perspectives and contribute to school life. The PYP Student Council focuses on younger students, while the MYP Student Council plans and runs major events such as Halloween Disco, Book Week, and Valentine's Day celebrations. Participation develops teamwork, leadership, and school spirit, contributing to Bladins' community culture.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Outdoor Education Program provides all MYP students with hands-on nature experiences, including hiking, camping trips, and canoeing adventures, to build teamwork, resilience, and environmental stewardship. Trips are led by experienced staff to ensure safety and personal growth in real-world settings. The Nordic Network also broadens social connections and teamwork through inter-school activities and games, contributing to overall wellbeing and a global mindset.
