British International School of Stockholm’s Ekeby Campus in Danderyd serves students from approximately ages 9 to 18 and is the home of the school’s Secondary School, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme pathways. Founded in 1980, BISS follows the British curriculum before students progress to IGCSE qualifications in Years 10–11 and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12–13. English is the language of instruction, with Swedish taught as part of the curriculum. The school is accredited by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and is an authorised IB World School. A distinctive feature of BISS is that it combines a British curriculum with both Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma pathways, a combination offered by relatively few schools in Sweden. Students have access to a wide range of enrichment opportunities including science competitions, sports programmes and international learning activities. The school serves families from more than 50 nationalities.
