Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Eligibility and programmes: ISH offers Early Years (EY), Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme. The IB curriculum is taught in English, and ISH is registered with the Swedish School Inspectorate. ISH does not teach Sweden's curriculum or use the Swedish grading system, though Swedish language is taught. Sweden's compulsory-education requirements apply to PYP and MYP. 2. Eligibility criteria and priority: Applications for ages 2–16 must meet criteria set by the Swedish Education Act. Priority is given to children of international families moving to Helsingborg and to students who have attended international schools abroad; admission of other applicants depends on space. If spaces are limited, priority is given to applicants living within Helsingborg municipality. ISH is funded by the City of Helsingborg and is tuition-free. 3. How to apply: EY, PYP, and MYP applications are submitted through the ISH online application system. For the Diploma Programme, applicants can apply via Skånegy or directly through ISH, depending on whether they are in Sweden or abroad. If applying from outside Sweden, applicants may begin through the ISH online system but must obtain a Swedish personal identity number and prove the right to live and study in Sweden before admission. 4. Diploma admissions: All Diploma applicants are invited to take entrance tests in English and Mathematics and to participate in an interview. The entrance test is scheduled in the spring term before August enrollment. In 2026, the entrance test date is March 9, with invitations sent by mail.
