How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

PYP and MYP (Grades 0–9) admissions are open only to families with a temporary work contract; Grades 10–12 (M10–DP2) admissions are open to both local and international communities. Intake is ongoing for PYP and MYP/Grade 0–10. In DP, intake closes in September and DP students cannot start after September. CP: Applications are accepted from October to January; the outcome of auditions is communicated from mid-February; late applications are subject to availability and can only be accepted if the applicant holds EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship. How to apply: Online applications only via OpenApply; no documents can be sent by e-mail. Fees: ISSR is run by the City of Stockholm and has no fees; diplomats not EU/EEA or Swiss citizens will have to pay the tuition fee for students in Grade 10 to DP2.

International School of the Stockholm Region (ISSR) is a publicly funded, English-speaking school founded by the City of Stockholm to meet demand for international education. It offers a complete IB continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for students aged 5 to 18. ISSR has served as an IB World School since 1999 and is based on Södermalm campus, which joined the IB Continuum in 2016. The school educates more than 600 students from over 70 countries, reflecting its international community. Facilities include a large library with books, databases, online services, a laptop program for students from M6 to DP2. A football field is on campus, and professional coaches supervise sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and cricket. Extra activities include choir, band, chess and about 30 CAS clubs, with ManageBac for guardians and students worldwide.
