The school offers Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) as part of its IB World School status. The library is large and well-lit and provides books, databases, and online services. Every student from M6 to DP2 receives a laptop for studies. The football field is located on the school premises. Beyond the classroom, ISSR provides a range of cultural and sporting activities.
The school has a football field on site. ISSR competes in the local Stockholm Schools International league (SIL) tournaments and in the Nordic Network international schools sports championship (NN). Extracurricular sports are offered for students in grades 6–12 and are free and open to all levels. The main sports are soccer and basketball, with volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and cricket also popular. Professional coaches supervise and organize sporting events and practice sessions.

International School of the Stockholm Region (ISSR) is a publicly funded, English-speaking school founded by the City of Stockholm to meet demand for international education. It offers a complete IB continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for students aged 5 to 18. ISSR has served as an IB World School since 1999 and is based on Södermalm campus, which joined the IB Continuum in 2016. The school educates more than 600 students from over 70 countries, reflecting its international community.
